Around 300 sex workers hold a demonstration in front of Bosingak, Jongno District, Seoul, urging the government to both abolish a special law banning sex trade and protect their right to a livelihood, Sept. 22.
The government enforced the anti-prostitution law in 2004, which calls for, among other things, up to 10 years in prison or fines of up to 100 million won ($87,000) for those who force women to provide sexual services in brothels.
